Adult Education: Conversational English Curriculum at LEWB
The LEWB curriculum enables students to practise speaking English in a variety of formal and informal settings while being guided by experienced teachers. In this article, I'll be providing an outline of LEWB's conversational English curriculum.
Course structure
We offer four levels divided into three categories: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The beginner phase consists of levels 1 and 2, the intermediate phase of level 3, and the advanced phase of level 4.
Learning materials
A course book and a practise book are provided for each level. We make use of a free educational app with audio. Both iOS and Android users can download the software.

Typical lessons include the following:
- An introduction to common discussion strategies, such as presenting an opinion, asking for clarification, and agreeing and disagreeing.
- Structured sessions for practising these techniques in pairs or small groups.
- Interesting themes that stimulate discussion, such as societal issues, current events, culture, and more.
- Teacher feedback regarding grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation in each class.
- Interactive and pertinent online videos, audio recordings, and tools for grammar and vocabulary.
