“I have a profound passion for the educational field and thrive in environments where I can both share and receive knowledge. As an English tutor, I have the privilege of doing this regularly and witnessing the progress and improvement of my students in their English-speaking skills brings me a great sense of fulfilment.

Although my academic background is primarily in the biological sciences, I have gained extensive experience in writing and presenting due to my research work. Through my interactions with others in similar circumstances, I have come to realise the significant challenges that the English language presents to many individuals, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, including a majority of black students. This linguistic barrier not only hinders their progress but also contributes to feelings of inadequacy and has a negative impact on their academic performance and future career prospects. Having personally excelled in English and even taught it at the university level, I have discovered a deep passion for teaching the subject and witnessing the transformative impact it has on students' confidence, academic achievements, and professional growth.

In my role as an educator, I not only impart knowledge but also take the time to understand each student's unique personality and adapt my teaching style accordingly. This personalised approach allows me to maximise their learning experience and also enables me to learn from them, continuously enhancing and developing my own skills. For this reason, I eagerly anticipate working with every student as they all bring different perspectives and valuable lessons that contribute to my growth and development.”
